The Insider started fundraising campaign on Help Each Other
We’re delighted to announce the first fundraising campaign on Help Each Other platform. Support the investigative journalism by donating to The Insider, one of the main Russian investigative media outlets. The Insider aims to raise 20,000 BUSD which pays for a year of investigative work by one journalist.
The Insider specializes in investigative journalism, fact-checking and political analytics. In May 2019, The Insider and Bellingcat received the European Press Prize for establishing the identity of the two men responsible for the poisoning of Sergei and Yulia Skripal.
In October 2020, following the poisoning of Alexei Navalny with the chemical weapon known as Novichok, a joint investigation by The Insider, Bellingcat, Der Spiegel and Radio Liberty uncovered the identities of scientists and government structures that were involved in the development of Novichok, their connection between each other and the alleged form in which the chemical weapon was used. The identified empoyees of the Russian secret services are also believed to be responsible for the poisonings of Vladimir Kara-Murza and Dmitry Bykov.
The Insider investigated hacks of Emmanuel Macron and Hillary Clinton, published evidence of Donald Trump’s connections with Russian organized crime and looked into Vladimir Putin’s ties to Tambov organized criminal group.
In July 2021 Russia’s Justice Ministry has added The Insider to its list of “foreign agents”, along with five individual journalists. On the morning of Wednesday, July 28, Moscow police raided the home of Roman Dobrokhotov, the editor-in-chief of The Insider. Roman Dobrokhotov was taken in for questioning following raid on his home.
