Jaraslau Likhachevski became an advisor of Help Each Other
Help Each Other is thrilled to present to you the new member of our advisory board: Jaraslau Likhachevski. Jaraslau has big experience both in IT and in crowdfunding and will provide Help Each Other project with his mentorship.
Jaraslau Likhachevski is the chief executive officer of a medtech company Deepdee. Deepdee together with the Rotterdam Eye Hospital works on automation of eye conditions detection based on retinal images and provides hardware-independent AI for reliable medical diagnosis of eye diseases.
In August, 2020, after Alexander Lukashenko remained in power despite the widely accepted claims he lost elections to Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya, mass protests erupted in Belarus. Lukashenko answered with brutality. Many have been tortured in jails and many have been fired. Jaraslau Likhachevski founded BYSOL (Belarusian domain by + solidarity), an organization that provides funds to those who suffered because of their participation in the protests.
BYSOL has started helping people fired for political reasons to retrain and find a new job. For the transition to pass smoothly the fund also paid each verified applicant 1500 euros in bitcoin. With the growth of the fund it started many more activities. BYSOL provides financial support for strike committees and development of the workers’ movement. They crowdfund to aid the political prisoners and their families, help with emergency evacuation for the people under criminal prosecution because of their participation in the protests against Alexandr Lukashenko, provide financial, methodological, and expert assistance to the institutional and professional initiatives (for doctors, athletes, etc.). Recently together with Golos and BY_help they launched Digital Solidarity app.
As Alexandr Lukashenko holds a tight grip on the country’s banking system the funds to those who stay in Belarus were transferred in bitcoin. Use of crypto to fight dictators is one of the main driving ideas of Help Each Other. We’re excited to welcome Jaraslau Likhachevski and his experience to our advisory board.
